November 2002 my sisters, Pat and Carole, and I went to Hawaii to celebrate Pat's 60th birthday! We also took our 80 year old mother who has never been off the Mainland. We all had a wonderful time, naturally - we were in Maui - who wouldn't?? We stayed in Paia, which is a historical plantation town, and is also an old hippy town! It's as though time has stood still; just a younger generation of hippies. Talk about mellow!! The spent the second day there at Ho'okipa Beach where they hold windsurfing competitions. There were windsurfers out that day so Carole and I took a stroll - me with my camera in hand!

Carole kept saying to me, "Get the rainbow, get the rainbow!" So, I got the rainbow! |

These dudes really know how to go for the brass ring! As you can see in the foreground, there is a rock shelf formation just 20' to 30' from the shoreline! Didn't look too safe to me. |
